Rhode Island Lead Hazard Reduction Worker 24Hr

This course is delivered in Spanish by an experienced Spanish speaking contractor with years of hands on experience. The primary written agenda is taken from the EPA Spanish worker manual with important additions and editing to comply with Rhode Island regulations.  It is dedicated to the abatement of lead paint in homes requiring persons licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Public Health. This course also fulfill the HUD prerequisite for abatement workers on their job sites.

The course is three days long, 24 hours, that includes both class room and hands on training. Hands on topics such as respirators, personal protective equipment, construction decontamination unit, and the use of encapsulates are taught in an interactive environment. OSHA training includes personal hygiene,  hazard communications, exposure monitoring, your right to know, and hazards other than lead paint.

Work practices are shown and discussed in an in depth  manner to demonstrate the means and methods used to provide proper lead abatement in a lead-safe manner. This contains all the elements of setting up the work areas with plastic sheeting to form a contained area that prevents the spread of lead dust and debris; to the daily cleaning; and finally the removal and clean-up of the contained areas.

This course produce a well trained individual who can be integrated into the lead abatement workplace as an asset to any lead abatement company.
